Evaluation
Firstly, this task was not easily achieved, by my own fault. I was not organised enough to complete it to the standard I would of liked to. The photo's I took from the Whitney photo shoot I was rather proud of and I thought that went rather well and some of the photos were of quite high quality, one of them stood out more than the rest, it was a photo of gold railing, which was the main focus, the background was purposely out of focus to emphasise the railing and the surrounding plants. What I was not happy with was the 50 pictures we had to take, which can be found on my 'Contact sheets' blog, as I did not have a camera to take the photo's with out of college, I had to take them inside the college campus, which left me with a very slim range of photos, as the college campus isn't really the best area for photography. If I was to do this again I would definitely of tried harder to get a camera to take my pictures outside of college, which would of left me in a good position to get a merit or a distinction, where as now, I'll be lucky to get a pass in this.
By the limited array of photos I have, I have chosen to call my topic 'Every day life, in college'. As bland as this sounds, some of the pictures taken, I do actually quite like. I will now evaluate the chosen ones.
The first photo I am going to evaluate is DSC_0012.JPG which is found on the first contact sheet.
This is a photo taken of my fellow studenbgjhju. Which is relevant to my topic, in this Joe has limited the size of his legs and has seek ed refuge in the 'Refuge I liked this photo because of the bland colours, until you look at hat Joe is wearing with bright red trouserst colour on his trainers, his positioning in this photo lead me to take it from an angle which left everything to be seen, he looks encased by the yellow tapkjloe shjmurrounding him. It also has a comedy effect about it, which relates back to my topic.
The second photo is DSC_0028.JPG this is a photo taken off a water cooler around the college campus. I captured this photo just as the bubble has been released by it. I think its erupted almost in a volcanic like fashion. I also think it looks like a smoke cloud being released. The clear Aztec coloured water has been created by the casing around it, which makes it look a different shade. This photo has been made by the precise timing of this photograph being taken. I like the contrast between the bland whites and greys and the blueish shade of water.
The third photo I am going to evaluate will be DSC_0040.JPG. I took this photo of the view from the fire exit on the third floor at college. This gave me view of some part of Whitney, which allowed me to get a photo outside of the college complex, but still fits in with my topic as it was taken inside the college complex. In this photo the lighting was quite poor as it was taken in the early evening, I think it gives a dark mood and theme which I like, the sky makes this photo in my opinion, as the shade and tone of it co-insides with the objects and scene created below it.
The penultimate photo is DSC_0042.JPG. I have taken this photo on the stairs where I took my previous one, the main focus of this is the downgrade of the stairs to see one of my fellow class mates. The angle I have taken this photo from kind of gives it a 3D effect as it seems as if you can fall through the photo down this stairs. This photo also has a dark mood to it, caused by the time of day it was taken also caused by the surrounding; the dull, white, metal rusting rails, the grey toned building.
